Scandal A Paris launched in 2019 as a lighter version of Scandal. There is more fruits and flowers, less fixative strong base notes.

The main notes are pear, jasmine and honey but the honey note is toned down. Not surprisingly, it is less heavy than the original, made for a spring day. I personally think that there are better fragrances for spring. I associate the Scandal range with a night-time and have no desire to wear it during the day. On top of that, there is a part that feels a bit scratchy when it dries.

A fresher, floral Scandal. Good for the time when we eagerly await spring after long winter.

Scandal Jean Paul Gaultier

Jean Paul Gaultier got tired of making new and new flankers of Classique; and therefore, came up with Scandal in 2017. We do not have the full female torso but only the bottom part – stunningly sexy legs. The bottle is again catchy, seductive and shocking – I love it!

It is a modern smell, balsamic, the opening is quite orange-like. There is honey, gardenia, beeswax, caramel and patchouli. The advertising is a bomb; and that is why, you expect something so scandalous; but in this respect, you will be disappointed. Scandal comes across very sweet; yes, but at the same time, I get a picture of a girl next door in my head.

The note profile is inviting and cozy. The fragrance is friendly and approachable, very wearable. The best would be for winter nights but there is no limit, of course.

Scandal is strong on honey, little bit naughty but no huge scandal is going on here.

La Belle Jean Paul Gaultier

La Belle is one of the newest flankers of Classique by Jean Paul Gaultier from 2019. Pear and vanilla give La Belle its sweetness and sultriness while it gets its freshness from vetiver.

It is simple yet beautiful. It is more fall and winter fragrance but still quite youthful and innocent. It is not an instant love for me. I am not going to run out and buy it. Nevertheless, it is easy to like and there is something intriguing about it. I see why so many people love it. The scent is an approachable night-timer without going heavy or over the top.

La Belle is the Beautiful, not the Beast. An “easy to reach for”, delicate night-time perfume.

Autumn Fragrances for Women

Solo Loewe Ella Eau de Toilette Loewe

There is a beautiful tropical top that really comes through. It consists of passionfruit and pitahaya. The middle has peony and cotton candy, the base mostly sandalwood and vanilla. The note profile really intrigued me. I was expecting a sweet tropical blast, quite young and free.

However, the scent is actually quite sophisticated. The dry down is sweet, woody and soapy. It is mature and not exactly for hot summer days. I wore it during the summer season; and so far, it did not blow my mind. I will give it more love during the upcoming colder days. Nevertheless, it is fair to say that the performance is pretty good, it lasts a decent number of hours and I could smell it on myself.

A tropical gourmand which is soapy and mature with a typical creamy sandalwood and vanilla dry-down.

1888 Xerjoff

Xerjoff is an Italian niche perfumery known for good quality and performance but at a price. Xerjoff takes inspiration from Italian architecture, nature, human feelings and senses.

1888 Casamorati is unisex, leaning more masculine, strong and long lasting. The accords are spicy as hell. You get carnation, pepper, coriander and saffron as the head notes. The middle is floral with ylang-ylang, neroli and rose. The base has amber, sandalwood, birch and patchouli. The blending is exquisite, you cannot smell particular notes, just the overall accords.

It is deep, ambery, vintage. I get Shalimar vibes. 1888 is not going to be my personal favorite but it could be nice on an older lady or a man with a big personality. It is the one for cold fall or winter nights. It is sophisticated though. I cannot imagine going out drinking with mates and wearing 1888 Xerjoff. There is time and place for everything.

An exquisite spicy warm bomb with an older feel. Everything but easy to pull off.

DKNY Be Extra Delicious Donna Karan

This is so delicious fruits and flowers with loads of caramel. It is an uplifting energetic young perfume.

Such a pleasant scent, I cannot imagine anyone not liking it. Despite of being sweet, it is a fresh day-time fragrance for summer. It is a modern smell, great for teens. It can work out in various environments like school, uni, office, gym. It is neither flirty nor sexy. Just a generally happy scent. I have a sample and it is very nice but I am not in a rush of buying a full bottle.

Be Extra Delicious is a doze of energy and gratitude. It is EXTRA fine but not groundbreaking enough.

Summer Fragrances Day and Night

Summers are usually hot and humid and this time requires a special selection of fragrances. We are looking for scents that are light, fresh, sparkling for the day. For the night, we want to add little extra something. In this video, I prepared six perfumes for the summer daytime and three for the night. I included professional work perfumes, flirty and sexy scents as well as super casual fragrances. I did not forget about tropical beachy aromas together with relaxing perfume choices. Miss Dior Absolutely Blooming Dior

I think that the “original” Miss Dior 2017 is a nice classy fragrance but I am not overly excited about it. In my eyes, it lacks character little bit. Therefore, I was looking for something more but I did not want to leave the concept of Miss Dior completely. I was lucky to get my hands on Absolutely Blooming.

It is Floral Fruity but gosh, quite heavy. It is a sweeter sexier sensual version of Miss Dior and I like it. It is also fruitier syrupier, you sniff raspberry, black currant, pomegranate. Black currant seems to be the IT note of 2021. It can be found in many female fragrances and I love it. There are also rose and peony – so typical of Miss Dior. Absolutely Blooming is a daytime scent for a confident lady who likes attention.
