Baccarat Rouge 540 Extrait de Parfum Maison Francis Kurkdjian

Amber Floral
Francis Kurkdjian

The extrait is similar to Baccarat Rough 540 yet I see a few nuances that differ. In my eyes, the extrait is more rounded, less glamorous, and sits on the skin very nicely. I do not want to say by any means that BR 540 is bad, I am just looking for small differences.)

The extrait is grounded with woodsy notes, and musk as opposed to fir resin and cedar which can turn out a bit more aromatic. It is arguably a more intense version of Baccarat Rouge 540. I find it creamier, warmer and surprisingly, easier to wear. So, for those who like BR 540 but it is too much, the extrait can be a reasonable compromise.

The scent is at its best when it warms up on your skin and settles down which happens approximately after three hours. The lasting power cannot be better in both cases.

A wiser brother of Baccarat Rouge 540 – calmer, comfortable and not as glorious.

Tobacco Vanille Tom Ford

Amber Spicy
Olivier Gillotin

I find tobacco stunning in fragrances, especially during fall and winter. In Tobacco Vanille, I smell mostly well-refined vanilla and warm spices but it does not matter. I want to shout “No, more is not more”. This is how much I enjoy this warm simplistic creation.

I want to shout “No, more is not more”. This is how much I enjoy this warm simplistic creation. I see a similarity with Black Orchid by Tom Ford, but Tobacco Vanille is softer and less loud. It is beautiful for men and women. It is correct that perfume does not have a gender. It is greatly reminiscent of Christmas time too – not particularly sexy, but classy, lux and cuddly.

I have been on a hunt for a comfortable, bit masculine night-time scent that I could easily and frequently reach out for, and I must say, this is it!

A fantastic, “no fuss” spiced vanilla which stays sophisticated from start to end.

Run Wild for Her Davidoff

Floral Fruity
Perfumer: Alienor Massenet, Emilie (Bevierre) Coppermann

Run Wild is a new bright addition to my collection. Although some could call this fragrance “generic”, I do not have anything like it on my dressing table. On top of that, this is my first Davidoff ever.

I would classify it as fresh and sweet Floral Fruity yet there is something intriguing about it. It was launched two years ago in 2019 and indeed it is a very contemporary scent. It represents a combo of pomegranate, jasmine and lily. The aroma does not have a strong base hence it has poor lasting power. If you spray a lot though, you create a beautifully pleasing cloud around yourself. If you like a sweet fruity opening and then the smell of lilies, it is a must-have. I would not consider it is basic but easy reach off you go. And great for the summer. How about that!

Sweet pomegranate and refreshing white lilies. A light “grab and go” perfume.

Chance Eau Tendre Hair Mist Chanel

Floral
Perfumer: Jacquez Polge

There is a slight hint of citrus in the opening from quince and grapefruit; however, the fragrance turns into soft delicate musky slightly sweet floral in a minute.

It lingers in your hair for quite some time which is actually impressive considering the note profile and hair mist concentration. I could also smell it on me throughout the day. Nonetheless, I cannot say that I was overly pleased with the scent. There is a synthetic feel to it and it comes across a way too soft and romantic for me. With that being said it represents a good choice for people who are looking for an inoffensive everyday perfume.

A subtle floral musk aroma. At any time, offends no one and lasts.

Cassili Parfums de Marly

Amber Floral

I genuinely like most of the PDM female range; however, I am on a fence with Cassily. My first impression is creamy and sweet. It smells lux, you definitely know you came across something well thought through, layered and high quality.

I do not get much red currant. I feel frangipani, plum, mimosa and vanilla. It is a unique combo, too sweet for me yet the feeling I get is certainly not “a teenage girl”. It is sweet in a mature heavy way. It lasts about 5 hours during the fall, which is not bad but considering the price, it is not okay. On top of that, it is elegant but lacks sexuality in my opinion. I had a full bottle and I decided to return it. It is a decent oriental floral but not for me.

A heavy sweet creamy fragrance with interesting notes. On the mature side.
