CK Everyone: A Juicy Easy Peasy Fragrance

CK Everyone EDT by Calvin Klein
Citrus Aromatic
Alberto Morillas

The original CK One is a cult unisex fragrance whose beginnings go back to 1994. Today’s CK Everyone keeps the core value – genderless – from its predecessor and makes it more contemporary. It is all about freedom and inclusivity. It does not matter what you do for a living and where you come from. Moreover, it follows the current environmental trends – the product is vegan in a recycled bottle. Well done.

Despite the reviews on Fragrantica, I think it leans more feminine than masculine; however, I can understand why people voted this way. We can observe a trend that even masculine fragrances tend to be sweeter and more gourmand. CK Everyone is not a gourmand but is softer and sweeter from my point of view. I still associate that with feminity. But as has been said, the trends are changing.

I smell a very refined smooth orange opening. A stunning orange splash that feels lush and lux. The middle is made of tea and watery notes, still very pleasant to my nose. Tea can sometimes get harsh and watery notes somewhat muddy and dirty but this is not the case. It feels fresh and fine. It is a green aquatic fragrance yet keeps its fluffiness and pretty face. The base has a beautiful subtle musk. It is nothing like L’Ombre Des Merveilles by Hermes which I am not a fan of. CK Everyone is an easy reach for everyone financially as well as in terms of opportunities to wear. Such an easy grab and go frag.

Bella Blanca: A Juicy Green Softie

Bella Blanca by Oscar de la Renta
Floral
Harry Fremont

Bella Blanca is a fresh green fragrance representing youth, charm and innocence. It has a lovely note of pear at the top which is not too much. Sometimes, pear can be overwhelming and very sweet. This is a sparkling soft pear note. Together with the lily of the valley, it makes up for a drop-down gorgeous opening. In the heart of the fragrance, we have our common trio of white florals: jasmine, tuberose and orange blossom. This is all underlined with a hint of rose. The perfumed is balanced with musk, sandalwood and iris at the bottom of the mix.

I think that Bella Blanca is dreamy. Although it has opulent white flowers, they do not come across as too lush. They are clean and delicate. It is a great daily fragrance for places where you are supposed to be fragrance-free, like a medical environment, school etcetera.

Bella Blanca is a subdued earthy white floral cocktail with pure pear at the start.

Delicate Sandalwood Heaven called Adam Levine

Adam Levine by Adam Levine
Amber Floral
Yann Vasnier

Adam Levine is the frontman of the American pop-rock band Maroon 5 and this time comes with a spicy herbal woody fragrance for women. It takes us by surprise. Not only it is inexpensive, but also incredibly unique; and most importantly, smells divine. By unique I mean it is not a safe blind buy and I would not call the perfume exactly mass appealing.

It has spices and marigold in the opening. Marigold brings beautiful aromatic and herbal qualities. Then it contains a huge portion of Australian sandalwood which provides us with softness, almost powderiness in the composition. The base is sweet and soft with vanilla and benzoin. It is long-wearing and people can smell it on you yet it somehow belongs to the inoffensive category. It can star in the office as well as at a concert. I reckon due to its creaminess and delicacy. It is for women but men can easily wear it too, from my point of view. Thanks to Adam Levine, I have learnt that I really enjoy wearing sandalwood. Cheers!

A spicy warm sandalwood celebrity scent. Extraordinary and versatile.

Christina Aguilera: A Faint Plum Paradise

Christina Aguilera Christina Aguilera
Amber Floral

Christina Aguilera by Christina Aguilera was launched in 2007. I remember sniffing it back then and I was not impressed. I was not into vanilla frags. The bottle is incredibly sexy though and goes hand in hand with Christina’s public image. This perfume that wears her name seems to score the highest in terms of popularity out of all her scents, and she has quite a lot. Although this fruity vanilla appears to be considerably popular among her fans, it has never reached popularity within the fragrance community as Britney Spears, SJP, or even Jessica Simpson and JLo back then.

Christina Aguilera is a gorgeous scent with a fruity top, flowers in the middle and a vanilla base. The most noticeable are black currant, plum and vanilla. Today, I personally like perfumes with this profile. It is similar to Britney Spears’ Fantasy range; however, and this may be the reason why it is not hugely recognised, the projection and lasting power are much weaker. Even with the heavy dose of vanilla, it is not a strong scent. It lasts two hours maximum on my skin which is not fine with many people. Maybe only Christina’s die heart fans can put up with this. There is a deliciously sweet plum note actually quite nicely blended. If only it lasted longer and projected more. Overall, it will make a solid fragrance for a teenage girl.

A sweet plum vanilla fragrance, you have to bathe in it to make it last.

Terracotta Le Parfum Guerlain

Floral
Perfumer: Thierry Wasser

Terracotta is primarily a Guerlain’s bronze cosmetic line. The company introduced Terracotta Le Parfum to celebrate 30 years of this line on the market. Le Parfum is a sweet sunny white floral scent from 2014. It contains a waxy Tiare flower ingredient, reminiscent of tuberose.

Coconut and vanilla are also prominent and add sweetness. Coconut is nicely blended and does not bother me in here. Terracotta is a pleasant tropical floral. Nice but I would not wear it. In 2022, I consider it a little bit old fashioned warm floral perfume. I would personally reach for something more gourmand for hot summer days, like Cheirosa 62 Sol De Janeiro.

A classic bright Le Parfum for a tropical island vacay. Tiare, coconut, you name it.
