Chanel’s perfumes

Coco Mademoiselle Intense Chanel

Amber Woody
Perfumer: Olivier Polge

Who would not like Coco Mademoiselle? This intense version is indeed more intense and longer-lasting, heavier on patchouli, tonka bean and vanilla. A great version of Coco Mademoiselle for winter – warmer, deeper, vanilla.

But do you need it? If you do not have any Coco Mademoiselle and like the note profile, get this intense version right away; however, if you already own Coco Mademoiselle (the regular version) you do not need this. They are different yet similar enough. I would not justify having both in my collection, it would be a waste.

A stronger more complex Coco Mademoiselle that we already know and adore.

Perfumes for And Just Like That TV characters

I am a big cheerleader of And Just Like That TV series and I think it would be fun to match perfumes to the main characters: Carrie, Charlotte, Samantha and Miranda. I know that Samantha is not on the show anymore but let’s keep her here for the sake of this post. There is not much said about perfumes on the show so I presume that the Sex and the City characters are not fragrance fanatics and simply wear what is available and trendy. Sit back and enjoy my fragrance choices.

The main character Carrie represents endless romanticism, elegance and big city vibrations. Therefore, I think lively perfumes like Burberry Her or L’Imperatrice 3 by Dolce & Gabanna private line would do it for her. She is also confident and womanly and that could be covered by the one and only Delina by Parfums de Marly.

The next character Charlotte is ultra-feminine and cute hence I have Pour Femme by Dolce & Gabanna in store for her. In addition, she brings happiness to people around her and takes part in healthy activities like running thus Light Blue by Dolce & Gabanna could be also a hit. Due to her affiliation to an upper class, I suggest she could also wear Gabrielle by Chanel.

Samantha is a woman with balls who enjoys attention from the opposite sex. Very Sexy by Victoria’s Secret ticks the box. Moreover, she is independent as hell which she can express by wearing Jil by Jil Sander. And lastly, she likes to spend her money and indulge in luxury. I cannot think of anything better than Baccarat Rouge 540 by Maison Francis Kurkdjian for her.

Miranda is smart and practical. She is not going to enjoy anything too sweet or floral. Stella Tocca would be a good “pick me up” casual fragrance for her. She can also wear Chance by Chanel daily to work and White Patchouli by Tom Ford for lunches with the girls.

I have chosen three perfumes for each character based on their personality traits and I also wanted to have a price variety – from cheapies to luxury goods. Please note that by any means I do not claim that the characters wear these perfumes on the show, it is just for your entertainment.

Chance Eau Tendre Hair Mist Chanel

Floral
Perfumer: Jacquez Polge

There is a slight hint of citrus in the opening from quince and grapefruit; however, the fragrance turns into soft delicate musky slightly sweet floral in a minute.

It lingers in your hair for quite some time which is actually impressive considering the note profile and hair mist concentration. I could also smell it on me throughout the day. Nonetheless, I cannot say that I was overly pleased with the scent. There is a synthetic feel to it and it comes across a way too soft and romantic for me. With that being said it represents a good choice for people who are looking for an inoffensive everyday perfume.

A subtle floral musk aroma. At any time, offends no one and lasts.

Coco Noir Chanel

Amber Woody
Perfumer: Christopher Sheldrake, Jacques Polge

Despite the name Noir, you can expect a very bright and juicy opening with grapefruit, bergamot and orange. The aroma soon turns into a delicate floral with rose, geranium, jasmine and narcissus. Afterwards, you get down to the beautiful subtle base of patchouli, sandalwood, tonka, vanille and white musk.

You feel the typical Chanel DNA throughout the experience. Overall, it is a well done perfume, little bit less dark and bold than expected. It makes Chanel Noir a soft night-timer ideal for hotter months and any women regardless of their age.

A friendly bright inviting night-time perfume for any age group.

Gabrielle Chanel

Floral
Perfumer: Olivier Polge

Gabrielle is everything: feminine, radiant, sunny, and extremely hard to dislike. It would make up for a great gift. It opens up with sparkling grapefruit and mandarin orange. The heart consists of white flowers like orange blossom, jasmine and tuberose. The dry-down is soft, creamy and sultry with musky and woody tones.

Gabrielle does not have the typical Chanel lasting power. The sillage is also weaker. I find a similarity with Jour d ‘Hermes and J’Adore. I love these types of perfumes. They are all delicate, bright with white flowers and fruits. Gabrielle has the Chanel DNA; nevertheless, the price point is totally crazy. It is obvious that we are paying for the brand rather than anything else.

In the end of the day, it does not bother me, I still like it. The scent is perfect for school or work. I could wear this anywhere and at any time. It is super inoffensive, you cannot get tired of it.

An elegant aroma with a bright opening and creamy base notes. When you wear Gabrielle, nothing can possibly go wrong.

Autumn Fragrances for Women

I put together a compilation of my favorite autumn fragrances. They keep me company and warm me up during colder and rainy fall days. You can be looking forward to seeing Hermes, Burberry, Rochas, Chanel and much more. Have fun! 🙂

Orange Blossom & Vanilla Fragrances

Floral, Amber Floral, Amber Vanilla

If you are familiar with my blog, you know I love orange blossom and vanilla combinations in my perfumes. I know already a lot of fragrances with this note profile and I keep comparing one to another in my posts. Hence I thought it would be more practical to do a run down of orange blossom and vanilla perfumes in one video. Orange blossom and vanilla together create a lush, exotic, sweet combo that I am fascinated about. I have picked seven scents and two honorable mentions. I also give recommendations which climate and time of the day they are suitable for. Relax and enjoy the ride 🙂 xoxo

Coco Noir Chanel

I present my friend Sandra to you once again because she is my partner in crime when it comes to perfumes. She also has a different taste in fragrances which I appreciate very much because it inspires me and makes me look at fragrances from a different angle. That being said, she is very much into fashion and make-up and believes that an outfit is not finished unless a spray of the right perfume is applied.

Dear all, I am pleased that I can talk to you again and tell you more about the old friend on my dressing table. We’re talking about Coco Noir which was a gift from my mum for Christmas. It seems that she knew back then that I would need this little guy to save me. I have bittersweet memories of this fragrance though and I’m going to tell you why in a minute, but first let me share some practical facts about this scent and myself.

Because I’m not exactly someone who you’d call a tough girl, my taste in scents may be slightly surprising to you. I prefer bold, straightforward and, let’s say, mature fragrances. I’m not into fresh, soft or delicate florals. I respect the people who wear them and it suits them a lot, but to me, it would be a dull option. I want my perfume to be felt and heard; of course … not intrusively … but rather “wow, what was she wearing, that was amazing”. A perfume can be heavy but shouldn’t suffocate.

Coco Noir is a fragrance for the night: cultural events, parties, dinners. You know my mantra, I wasn’t afraid of wearing it during the day and the impact was great. On top of that, I remember my life wasn’t exactly a paradise during this period of time. In fact, my life was very confusing back then, full of disappointment. I wasn’t surrounded by the greatest people, looking back.

As a result, you may think I don’t have the best memories of the fragrance, but actually, it’s not like that. Coco Noir helped me overcome obstacles! Thanks to this perfume, I remained strong and it gave me lot of courage in both good times and bad.

I believe that Coco Noir has the vibe to give people the energy and confidence they need to overcome anything and feel stronger in the end.

Chance Eau Fraiche Chanel

the second video directly by alexaperfumes is about one of my old time favorites: Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche. In the video, I describe how the perfume smells to me, I oppose the common opinions about this fragrance, I explain where I wear it and for whom it’s suitable. I hope you enjoy!

Allure Chanel

This scent is mysterious. It’s so well built that the smell changes over time. It’s everything but boring. I generally don’t like vanilla scents but honestly, I didn’t recognize the note in Allure. Simply said, it smells like sweet flowers, fruit and wood. It’s not ordinary; there is something very oriental and unique to it. Remarkable.

Allure is still a mystery to me though. I have only a sample and gave it a trial for a couple of days. It doesn’t seem enough. It appears to be different every day. Nevertheless, I’ve discovered two patterns that are repetitive: it’s sweetness and warmth. Allure reminds me of fall when leaves are falling and we can get a slight tan because the sun is still shining; it’s not sharp, just right enough to account for a beautiful romantic day. This is Allure!

Once upon a time there was a sweet, warm, oriental fairy tale. 90/100
