Nathalie Lorson is my favorite Master Perfumer. She is the creator of Black Opium YSL, Amethyst Lalique, Thrussardi Donna, Eros Versace, Meliora Parfums de Marly. Most of these I cherish. Wish Chopard is not an exception. It was launched in 1997, few years after Angel Thierry Mugler became popular. Subsequently, many sweet patchouli gourmand scents came to light, Wish included.
As many people say “I don’t like Angel but I worhip Wish”. Angel is a gourmand sweet explodium of patchouli which can be dirty and cloying. On the other hand, Wish is lighter, milkier, more bearable. Ride or die Angel fans are not going to treasure Wish; nevertheless, those who like the Angel DNA but can’t wear it for its intensity may be smitten with Wish. And so am I! I do not wear very gourmand scents. Wish is just right yet it is a complex perfume.
You get coconut, strawberry, gooseberry, honey, milk, flowers, caramel, vanilla, patchouli, toffee, incense … The singular notes are not dominant, it is very well blended. Moreover, Wish has been on the market for a while so you can get it for a good price.
If you like it sweet and earthy but Angel TM is simply too much for you, Wish is the one you gonna get crazy about. 70/100.
