Brisa Cubana Escada: The Spirit of Summer Fanfare

Brisa Cubana by Escada
Fruity Citrus

Brisa Cubana brings me back to my happy childhood to the middle of a local fanfare full of attractions, smiles and sweets. It has this addictive tangy sweet opening. It smells like the most amazing lemon drops together with sweet cotton candy. When the fragrance start is juicy and fruity, the dry-down sinks into a floral, centered at mariposa lily – the national flower of Cuba.

As with most Escada perfumes, I adore the opening but later, the scents settle into rather boring soft woody florals. Brisa Cubana included! It is a summer limited edition Eau de Toilette and it performs accordingly. A mood booster, refresher – lovely exotic aroma, nothing more nothing less.

Miami Blossom Escada: Satisfactory Pineapple

Miami Blossom by Escada
Floral Fruity

Last time we talked about Sorbetto Rosso, this time we have Miami Blossom, the 2019’s limited summer edition.

As the name suggests, the scent is inspired by the pulsing glamorous city of Miami. The smell is supposed to be energetic and fizzy. Like a tropical cocktail that lifts you up.

There is a trio of fruits – watermelon, blueberry and orange. I smell only the orange note from the three above. Pineapple and a bunch of white flowers can be found in the heart of the concoction. The pineapple accord is prominent and sets creamy on the skin. Ambroxan and sandalwood help to keep the creaminess going.

It is a pleasant floral fruity. A pretty safe blind buy if you like that type of scent. A normal crowd-pleasing fruity perfume, acceptable in a formal environment. It is well-blended, and does not scream juvenile or “too out there”. If I had a full bottle I would probably use it up as a day-to-day scent, running errands, or going to the gym smell. It is quite obvious that it does not strike me enough. I would not recognise it among other Escada perfumes. What an unmemorable release!

Sorbetto Rosso: Watermelon for Total Goofballs

Sorbetto Rosso by Escada
Aromatic Fruity

Who would not know Escada?! The fashion house was founded in Munich by Margaretha Ley, a former Swedish model and Wolfgang Ley in 1978. They name the company after a race horse. They stand up for cool, feminine, comfortable wear at affordable prices. They are not afraid of bright colors and contrasting ornaments. Sporty Elegance is their motto.

Escada is well established also in the fragrance world and their perfumes correspond with the sophisticated movable fashion. The scents are as fun and happy as the clothes.

You are mostly looking at cleverly done fruity creations for younger crowds. Escada releases a new limited edition every summer. Sorbetto Rosso is one of the seasonal fragrances (2018) and is still available at few discount shops. The juice is inspired by the beloved holiday destination Amalfi in Italy.

How does Sorbetto Rosso actually smell? First of all, you must like fruity innocent almost childish fragrances to enjoy this. If you have your goofy side and you are not afraid to show it, you will, in all probability, love it. Secondly, it is basically a watermelon fragrance, so if you are not a fan of a watermelon smell, beware. I am both childish and I find watermelon delicious. Thus for me, Sorbetto Rosso is a heaven on earth. It smells like a juicy watermelon bubble gum that I looove. Apart from that melon, it is very watery and fresh, exotic and tropical. Sour and sweet. Call me whatever you want, I am so buying a full bottle because I adore it. Plus, there are not many straightforward watermelon perfumes available.

Magnetism Escada

This oriental vanilla fragrance consists of a fruity top, flowery middle and sweet and woody base.  It is velvet and vivid, makes you feel alive. Rather than a sweet girl, Magnetism is a sultry lady. Are you the type who is loud and stands out? Magnetism will be your partner in crime. It won’t disappoint you late at night after a few hours of dancing. It will stay close to your skin and will last.

A true magnet to rely on is how we could define it. 80/100

Cherry in the Air Escada

Cherry in the Air is a fruity and juicy fragrance. Due to marshmallows and vanilla it’s indeed very sweet but cherry, raspberry and orange at the top give it a sour and fresh vibe.

With this scent, you will recall carefree summer days without the need to go to school. The airy afternoon in a picturesque countryside when you visited relatives and had seen friends after a long time of separation. The unforgettable atmosphere when you didn’t want the great time to come to its end.

Without doubt, the scent has a strong memorable personality. If only it lasted! Unlike the memories, Cherry in the Air fades away pretty quickly and before you snap your fingers, you are right back to where you started dreaming.

A great scent capable of taking your breath away, if not only for a while. 80/100

Especially Escada

Especially gives the instant impression of a floral fruity playful light scent – all-timer, all year rounder.

When you look at the composition in detail, it’s all about rose and musk; but interestingly,  the fragrance doesn’t have the power and heaviness you would expect with a rosy musk. Neither rose nor musk are dominant or overpowering. In fact, I find a similarity to Versace’s Bright Crystal.

Although Especially is not a unique type of perfume, it’s definitely a pleasant mood lifter. 60/100
