Irresistible Givenchy Very Floral: Killing It Silently

Irresistible Givenchy Very Floral by Givenchy
Floral
Anne Filipo, Caroline Dumur, Dominique Ropion, Fanny Bal

The modern Irresistible line of fragrances is incredible. The original Irresistible from 2020 and all its flankers are timeless perfections on the designer market. If this is what designer perfumery looks like in 2024, kudos to you master perfumers.

The scent opens fruity with tangy black currant. Then you get to rose, y-lang and iris. The combination creates a silky veil around the rose. It is romantic yet a tiny bit darker and sensual. We can find musk mallow in the base, so typical for Givenchy Irresistible fragrances. The musk is clean, fluffy and slightly sweetened.

The scent is like a pink little cloud floating gently in the blue sky. I even find it rounder and more complete than the original. But let’s come back to the ground. The perfume world is overloaded with rose perfumes for women; and therefore, Irresistible Very Floral is like a needle in a haystack. Gorgeous but does it have the wow instant gratification the general public is looking for? It is too subtle for that. And could they not come up with a better name? Very Floral, really? That caught my attention big time.

Perfume Empties in 2023: 28 bottles

I cannot believe I have used up 28 perfume bottles in 2023. Yay! Okay, okay, minis, travel sizes, but full sizes too. I have to show mostly summer feminine scents but some heavy stuff also. You can look forward to Vetiver D’Hiver by Armani Prive, Delina La Rosee by PDM, Figues & Agrumes by Maison Lancome and much more.

It is a great feeling to not only display the fragrances but actually use them and enjoy them. In other words, to spice up your daily routine with a bit of aroma. There is something magical about a fragrance … and to see me tenaciously going through them brings me joy. I created this video for you to enjoy as well.

Live Irrésistible Blossom Crush: Too Cool for School

Live Irrésistible Blossom Crush by Givenchy
Floral Fruity
Dominique Ropion

I have noticed that the old Irresistible fragrances by Givenchy have been discontinued and are gradually disappearing from the many discount websites. I wanted to have at least one old Irresistible fragrance in my perfume collection; therefore, I grabbed Live Irresistible Blossom Crush from the virtual “shelve”.

Blossom Crush is an Eau de Toilette and represents a sweet almost gourmand take on peony. Hence it is not your fresh bouquet of peonies Armani Privé or Miss Dior style but rather a full-on peony with a noticeable cacao undertone. Floral – sweet – powdery.

It is a pretty, young scent. If you have 25 and more, you may feel too old for the aroma. It does not have the cleanliness and elegance some other peony perfumes have. A nice fragrance for a chic.

I took Blossom Crush with me to a family vacay in Rock City, Chequia. I pulled it off but sometimes I felt like pig-headed Regina George from Mean Girls. Some fragrances are better off discontinued. Not because they are bad but because there is no time and place for them anymore.

Irrésistible EDT: Fluffy Musk with Newly Picked Rose

Irrésistible Givenchy Eau de Toilette by Givenchy
Floral Woody Musk
Anne Filipo, Dominique Ropion, Fanny Bal

The house of Givenchy launched the original Very Irresistible line in 2003. It was primarily a rose fragrance, with additional florals and spices at the top. A spicy bold rose that still manages to be garden-fresh and transparent. The bottle is lean, tall and hot pink.

Almost twenty years later, Givenchy introduces Irresistible EDP, musky pear with roses. The branding and scent itself are quite a departure from Very Irresistible. The crisp rose is there but accompanied by fruity and musky accords. The presentation is softer, and cleaner and so is the aroma itself. I was not wowed by the perfume from 2003 but a little goes a long way, the Irresistible of today is my jam.

While I would call the EDP a musky pear, the EDT is a musky rose. It is less sweet hence more neutral. It lasts the whole day on clothing especially. I think that both are excellent, it depends on what you prefer. The EDT is more work appropriate if you want to appear serious and responsible as opposed to the cheerful EDP. You can layer them for sure, I like the versatility.

L’Interdit EDP: Tuberose – Waxy, Velvety, Tropic

L’Interdit Eau de Parfum by Givenchy
Amber Floral
Anne Filipo, Dominique Ropion, Fanny Bal

The original L’Interdit from 1957 was created for Givenchy muse iconic actress Audrey Hepburn. L’Interdit means forbidden in English and the name fits the fragrance well.

This new version of the scent L’Interdit comes out in 2018. If I smelled it blindly, I would say a classic white floral, bubble gummy tuberose in particular. The brightness and sweetness are grounded with woodsy and earthy accords like patchouli and vetiver which I, in fact, do not get much. I inhale a ton of vanilla instead which makes the fragrance even sweeter.

Two other perfumes jump to my mind: My Way by Giorgio Armani and Thai Spa by Tesori d’Oriente. I am not a tuberose hunter myself but if you are L’Interdit is a must-have. A well done classy tuberose. Anyone can enjoy it.

Irresistible Givenchy Givenchy

Floral Fruity
Perfumer: Anne Filipo, Dominique Ropion, Fanny Bal

Irresistible Givenchy is a release from 2020. Throughout the years I became fond of most Givenchy perfumes. The brand makes remarkable fashionable creations. Organza and Amarige became icons in the perfume world and Reve d’Escapade, Hot Couture and Dahlia Divin are my ride or die fragrances. It comes as no surprise that I like Irresistible Givenchy too.

It is very much on the fruity side yet it stands for a fruity perfume with class. There are moody musk and woods as opposed to the delightful sweet sparkling pear note. The middle is elegant, enhanced with a rose and iris combo which brings makeup, powder finish. It sits beautifully on the skin as well as on clothes.

The scent is wearable all year round although spring and summer are probably the right months to rock it. Day or night? Both. However, the perfume’s inner beauty is going to shine more during the day. It still makes quite a versatile piece of work.

A simply composed fragrance which interestingly, opens many possibilities.

Autumn Fragrances for Women

I put together a compilation of my favorite autumn fragrances. They keep me company and warm me up during colder and rainy fall days. You can be looking forward to seeing Hermes, Burberry, Rochas, Chanel and much more. Have fun! 🙂

Orange Blossom & Vanilla Fragrances

Floral, Amber Floral, Amber Vanilla

If you are familiar with my blog, you know I love orange blossom and vanilla combinations in my perfumes. I know already a lot of fragrances with this note profile and I keep comparing one to another in my posts. Hence I thought it would be more practical to do a run down of orange blossom and vanilla perfumes in one video. Orange blossom and vanilla together create a lush, exotic, sweet combo that I am fascinated about. I have picked seven scents and two honorable mentions. I also give recommendations which climate and time of the day they are suitable for. Relax and enjoy the ride 🙂 xoxo

Hot Couture Givenchy

Floral
Perfumer: Alberto Morillas, Jacques Cavallier

With the 2000 launch is Hot Couture almost a vintage fragrance. Yet it is a modern and timeless classic. The house of Givenchy is very often overlooked in the perfume community but they actually stand out for high quality, interesting, feminine and elegant scents. Hot Couture is not an exception! It celebrates female body and sensuality. It is long lasting deep raspberry, pepper, vetiver, sandalwood and bit of amber.

A great sweet companion for cold winter nights. I adore vetiver in female fragrances. In Hot Couture, it smells like a small private night club where you go to enjoy a cancan or burlesque show. But do not get me wrong! There is nothing lascivious about it. Hot Couture rather expresses exciting intimate atmosphere which is still cultivated. I imagine ladies nicely dressed, little bit sexy, coming to see a show.

Dark raspberry peppery vetiver. Refined, intimate, seductive and ultimately feminine. 100/100

Její hlavní složky – malina, pepř a rákos – mají pořádnou výdrž.

Reve d’Escapade Givenchy

Photo: parfemy-elnino.cz

Reve d’Escapade was a limited edition sold at airports worldwide; so, unfortunately, you can’t get your hands on it any more. Its collection brother Un Air d’Escapade is also discontinued, but at least still available on sites like eBay or Amazon. But it is not quite the same.

I was lucky to be gifted a miniature Reve d’Escapade from my mother in law and absolutely fell in love with this fragrance. It is a beautiful rich peachy rose with woodsy notes and incense. It can be compared to Donna by Trussardi due to its fullness and creaminess; however, Reve d’Escapade is rosier and without white flowers. The mixture is blended splendidly, the perfumer certainly did a great job. As the name suggests, it is truly an escape to a dream. I am devastated I cannot buy this perfume anymore. It could very well be my signature scent.

Creamy thanks to peach, edgy thanks to sparkly rose, warm and mysterious thanks to incense. A masterpiece! 100/100
