Myrrh & Tonka Jo Malone London

Amber
Perfumer: Mathilde Bijaoui

Myrrh & Tonka is a powerhouse fragrance from start to finish. When you spray it for the first time, it is right in your face, very out there, potent, strong. The power fades away with time, very gradually, it stays until you wash it off, literally.

It is spicy and balsamic at the same time, strong on myrrh hence the name. Tonka adds warmth to it and vanilla sweetness. It is a dreamy charming composition. Intoxicating and addictive! I have to sniff it again and again. There is a calming nature to it too. Myrrh & Tonka is a grown-up masterpiece that will never get old.

Definitely for fall and winter, perfect for the night; however, if we spray economically, we can get away with it during the day, no problem. Unisex but I find it sexier on women.

Beastly perfection in a bottle. So simple yet so unique. Not for beginners.

Pomegranate Noir Jo Malone London

Photo: basenotes

Pomegranate Noir belongs to the aromatic fruity family. To me, the clove note is dominant and in a good way. I do enjoy the aromatic balsamic undertone. The fragrance is described as unisex, however, I think it inclines more towards the feminine side. Don’t let me fool you. It’s still very strong and long lasting, more suitable for cold months, I would say. I felt in love with it as the scent is downright unique. I can’t think of anything I could compare it to. It is warm and spicy like any other stuff but has something unusual to it. Maybe the blend of clove? Who knows!

What a mysterious fragrance, complicated, nicely done. 80/100

Wild Blubell Jo Malone

Photo: amazon.com

Wild Blubell is a unique combination of bellflower spiced up with clove. When I was a child and my family went to the countryside to refresh batteries, bellflowers were growing there along the pathways and they smelled exactly like Wild Bluebell. Many of my memories are of course connected to that time. Bellflowers remind me of my innocent childhood when I felt safe and secure, loved by both parents and thought that the world is peaceful and wonderful. And this is how I look at this fragrance. I am delighted that Bluebell managed to refresh my memories so wonderful that I wish such for all kids these days.

This scent smells to me like summer, harmony and past times. Therefore, I don’t think I would wear it to work, dinners or a party. This is a holiday and weekend scent for me. It is a special one.

Wild Bluebell is magical. Floral and soft at first but evokes strong feelings and memories in the long run. 100/100
