Viva La Juicy Noir: A Femme Fatale? No, a Sweet Girl!

Viva La Juicy Noir by Juicy Couture
Floral Fruity Gourmand

Viva La Juicy Noir (2013) is a flanker of the original Viva La Juicy from 2008. They are related yet different enough worth collecting both if you are a Juicy Couture fan.

The Noir version has a hefty dose of wild berries that you can really get in the initial blast. It is a fruitier and happier fragrance than the OG. The praline is missing but the sweetness is very much detectable partially from honeysuckle and gardenia and of course from a caramel and vanilla combo which brings out the gourmand side of the scent.

If you lust after sweet fruity perfumes, particularly with wild berries, you are going to be pleasantly surprised. It is an uplifting playful fragrance that has a sexiness to it. Not necessarily for the night-time, although the name Noir is suggesting savage orgies. I personally prefer this version to the OG or the Gold edition. It is fruitier, juicier and the sweetness is toned down.

Because it is composed around the fruity aspects, do not expect a great performance. It simply does not have the power the yummier Viva La Juiciest have. Some frag heads say Viva La Juicy is our guilty pleasure I say an ideal fragrance for girls and women when you are not going anywhere formal. Plus you can get it heavily discounted.

Royal Rose Juicy Couture

I enjoy the combination of rose and incense. When I came across Royal Rose, I thought, this is it! I found a perfect scent! I was so excited to spray it for the first time … And it was horrific! Lemony rose! I hate tart rose! That is the type of rose I cannot handle. I looked up the notes again, more carefully this time, and saw that there is no lemon in the combo. What the hack?! However, I noticed that the rose is called taif rose. I searched for taif rose online and found out that this type of rose has an aggressive, bright, crisp smell with lemon and a touch of honey. It is a very complex kind of rose and I am not liking it. Even the incense did not save it for me. Royal Rose smells a bit like Stella EDT which is an old fashioned rose with iced lemon.

Taif rose is just not for me, I know that now. To my nose, it stinks and reminds me of rotten fruits or cheap wine, I am sorry. I blind-bought a bottle because a rose and incense mix is my thing but I should have done my homework and research taif rose properly beforehand. With Juicy Couture, just stick with the original caramel blast. The Royal Rose perfume is now packed in a box, about to be returned. Someone else may enjoy it?

A rose and lemon tea aroma with honey. Needs sampling before buying.

Viva La Juicy Gold Couture Juicy Couture

Viva La Juicy Gold is a sweet rich cocktail. You will find plenty of caramel and vanilla inside. Many people, male especially, are raving about this fragrance and I thought I’m going to love it too because I am a fun of the original Viva La Juicy. Nevertheless, my experience turned out to be quite a different story.

Straight after the application, the scent sets well and offers you a pleasant creamy taste; however after a while, it changes its structure and goes off. I remember sitting on the sofa in my living room and smelling something uncomfortable. I was wondering: “What is this strange smell? Is it coming from the outside? Or did the cats puke somewhere in the room? Neither of them. It was Viva La Juicy Gold suffocating me during a  hot day.

So, either August in Europe is not a good month for this scent or there is just too much cloying caramel. I’m inclined to believe the latter. 10/100

Juicy Couture Juicy Couture

Juicy Couture is a floral fruity with a great fruity head – passion fruit, mandarin orange, green apple and watermelon; even better heart – rose hip, lily and tuberose; and an interesting and juicy base – creme brulee, woods, caramel, vanilla, patchouli.

As can be seen, the composition is very busy and Juicy Couture is actually a rich and luxurious fragrance. You will get a lot in this one, and if you like strong, distinctive, sweet scents, you won’t be disappointed. It’s sweet but not tacky, young but not too much.

A truly nicely done and blended mixture. 70/100

Who wouldn’t know Vila la Juicy! I personally don’t know a person who dislikes the scent. It’s just so likable, like a perfume next door everyone wants to befriend. Let’s get back to basics: It’s a sweet gourmet white floral fragrance. Apart from white floral, citrus and berries, you will find honey or pralines. The composition sounds overembellish but together, it makes up a harmonious sexy fragrance. Suitable for chill out weekends, dating, shopping fevers … anytime when you want to feel cheerful, sexy and feminine. Does it last all day? Not really but to the point it lasts, it’s amazing.

Is there simply no room for a sticky and sweet scent on your dressing table? Then make some room for Vila la Juicy and make it fast! There’ll be no regrets, I promise. 70/100

@all: Did you think that you wouldn’t “survive” sweet but Vila la Juicy is the only perfume that you put up with?
