Perfume Empties in 2023: 28 bottles

I cannot believe I have used up 28 perfume bottles in 2023. Yay! Okay, okay, minis, travel sizes, but full sizes too. I have to show mostly summer feminine scents but some heavy stuff also. You can look forward to Vetiver D’Hiver by Armani Prive, Delina La Rosee by PDM, Figues & Agrumes by Maison Lancome and much more.

It is a great feeling to not only display the fragrances but actually use them and enjoy them. In other words, to spice up your daily routine with a bit of aroma. There is something magical about a fragrance … and to see me tenaciously going through them brings me joy. I created this video for you to enjoy as well.

Delina La Rosée: An Attractive Aristocratic Socialite

Delina La Rosée by Parfums de Marly
Floral Fruity
Quentin Bisch

Parfums de Marly started to make 30ml cute minis of their best-selling fragrances. I thoroughly enjoy the Delina line, especially the original Delina; however, La Rosée was the only one I have not laid my nose on yet. As 30ml is a perfect size to blind buy and try out a new fragrance, I have it now. It is an adorable, super-cute bottle, and the juice inside is magnificent too.

It leans fresh and aquatic but surprisingly juicy and fruity. I mostly get litchi and bergamot, and they are stunning. Rose is accompanied by peony, which softens the typical smell of rose, which can be harsh in some cases. The base is musky; but interestingly, the fruits and florals do not vanish and stay with you the entire wear.

It is a spring-summer fragrance and you have to spray quite a lot to have a decent projection and lasting power. I think I am going to run through this perfume pretty quickly. And that is the reason why I prefer the original Delina. It has more presence. Delina OG does not perform as a body splash for summer but stands firm.

To avoid any misconceptions I do not think Delina La Rosée smells like a summer body mist. It smells elevated and luxurious. Like a rich sweet girl. I picture somebody petite with an edge like Nicole Richie. All I wanted to say is that it does not have the strength of Delina or Delina Exclusif and for that reason, I prefer OG Delina to La Rosée because it is a more signature-worthy, all-year-round kind of scent.

But I subjectively give Delina La Rosee higher marks because it brings me back to the very hot Otok Dugi in Creatia I recently came back from. The island is wild. It is sparsely inhabited with many national parks and beautiful coasts. A true paradise for active people looking for a non-commercial gate away. Rosee was perfect for that. Every time I see the coast, I feel La Rosee in the air.

Perfumes for And Just Like That TV characters

I am a big cheerleader of And Just Like That TV series and I think it would be fun to match perfumes to the main characters: Carrie, Charlotte, Samantha and Miranda. I know that Samantha is not on the show anymore but let’s keep her here for the sake of this post. There is not much said about perfumes on the show so I presume that the Sex and the City characters are not fragrance fanatics and simply wear what is available and trendy. Sit back and enjoy my fragrance choices.

The main character Carrie represents endless romanticism, elegance and big city vibrations. Therefore, I think lively perfumes like Burberry Her or L’Imperatrice 3 by Dolce & Gabanna private line would do it for her. She is also confident and womanly and that could be covered by the one and only Delina by Parfums de Marly.

The next character Charlotte is ultra-feminine and cute hence I have Pour Femme by Dolce & Gabanna in store for her. In addition, she brings happiness to people around her and takes part in healthy activities like running thus Light Blue by Dolce & Gabanna could be also a hit. Due to her affiliation to an upper class, I suggest she could also wear Gabrielle by Chanel.

Samantha is a woman with balls who enjoys attention from the opposite sex. Very Sexy by Victoria’s Secret ticks the box. Moreover, she is independent as hell which she can express by wearing Jil by Jil Sander. And lastly, she likes to spend her money and indulge in luxury. I cannot think of anything better than Baccarat Rouge 540 by Maison Francis Kurkdjian for her.

Miranda is smart and practical. She is not going to enjoy anything too sweet or floral. Stella Tocca would be a good “pick me up” casual fragrance for her. She can also wear Chance by Chanel daily to work and White Patchouli by Tom Ford for lunches with the girls.

I have chosen three perfumes for each character based on their personality traits and I also wanted to have a price variety – from cheapies to luxury goods. Please note that by any means I do not claim that the characters wear these perfumes on the show, it is just for your entertainment.

Cassili Parfums de Marly

Amber Floral

I genuinely like most of the PDM female range; however, I am on a fence with Cassily. My first impression is creamy and sweet. It smells lux, you definitely know you came across something well thought through, layered and high quality.

I do not get much red currant. I feel frangipani, plum, mimosa and vanilla. It is a unique combo, too sweet for me yet the feeling I get is certainly not “a teenage girl”. It is sweet in a mature heavy way. It lasts about 5 hours during the fall, which is not bad but considering the price, it is not okay. On top of that, it is elegant but lacks sexuality in my opinion. I had a full bottle and I decided to return it. It is a decent oriental floral but not for me.

A heavy sweet creamy fragrance with interesting notes. On the mature side.

Orange Blossom & Vanilla Fragrances

Floral, Amber Floral, Amber Vanilla

If you are familiar with my blog, you know I love orange blossom and vanilla combinations in my perfumes. I know already a lot of fragrances with this note profile and I keep comparing one to another in my posts. Hence I thought it would be more practical to do a run down of orange blossom and vanilla perfumes in one video. Orange blossom and vanilla together create a lush, exotic, sweet combo that I am fascinated about. I have picked seven scents and two honorable mentions. I also give recommendations which climate and time of the day they are suitable for. Relax and enjoy the ride 🙂 xoxo

Discovery Set Parfums de Marly

Parfums de Marly is a French perfumery focusing on positioning and concepting of signature fragrances. They are influenced by the18 century’s history of the palace and gardens of Versailles. Parfums de Marly brings nobility to life and transfers it into today’s contemporary world. The perfumes are superb on its own, powerful and long lasting. They are typical for their exclusive vanilla core. Despite their high price, they have become extremely popular.

Meliora

Floral Green
Perfumer: Nathalie Lorson

Meliora is my favorite so far. It is Floral Green. I love the fruity top consisted of black currant and red berries. It blends splendidly with cassis, musk and signature vanilla. It is the lightest out of the pack with the weakest lasting power. A-OK for the day, even a young girl can pull this off. It is a type of signature scent that you can wear to work, at home during the weekend or on holiday. Any occasion, any time. 80/100

Safanad

Floral
Perfumer: Fabrice Pellegrin

What I get from Safanad the most is the orange blossom and vanilla. It leaves a beautiful Floral sweet trail. I am a huge fan of the combination of orange blossom and vanilla. It is a typical duo in the fragrance business which works well and has been established in many fragrances from Middle East through Europe to Americas and back. Therefore, this scent reminds me off My Way by Armani, Amyrys by MFK, Le Parfum by Ellie Saab or Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel. I adore all of the above, Safanad included. However, it is important to depict that you can get slightly bored with the combo. It is a classic but nothing new to the table. 60/100

Darcy

Floral
Perfumer: Hamid Merati-Kashani

Darcy is another Floral. The opening is quite strong, almost unpleasant; however, later on, the perfume sets sweeter and somewhat creamier. My first impression is Shalimar but weaker, sweeter and contemporary. When looking at the notes, my guess was quite right. It smells expensive, more nigh-time and mature. Although I validate Shalimar as a perfumery masterpiece, it is not something I could wear these days. Darcy is more stylish and wearable in this respect. 40/100

Athalia

Floral Woody Musk
Perfumer: Alexandra Kosinski, Givaudan

Athalia is quite a straightforward perfume. It is a refined clean prominent iris. I like iris scents. Athalia does not have to be necessarily worn at night. I think women could get away with it any time, any season – a great signature. Speaking of iris fragrances, I still have my favorite Infusion d’Iris by Prada. It has not been beaten so far even though Athalia comes close. 60/100

Delina

Floral
Perfumer: Quentin Bisch

Delina is the most popular from the range. It is again Floral with dominant litchi, rhubarb, rose, peony and incense. It is the perfect combination between sexy and romantic. If you like Bella Rosa by Oscar de la Renta or So Scandalous by JPG, you are going to enjoy Delina. It has the same vibe but smells pricey, elegant and polished. It is powerful but I still think that you can wear Delina during the day with no trouble. Just a couple of sprays and you are good. 70/100

Delina Exclusif

Amber
Perfumer: Quentin Bisch

Delina Exclusif is a deeper, smokier, longer-lasting version of Delina. You can await more litchi, rose and vanilla. What an Amber bomb. It is definitely more on the sexy night side intimate occasion. Rich, lux, sensual, for a subtle lady. It is a nice change from the sweet gourmand night time fragrances. You have to like deep rose with vanilla, not for everyone though. 40/100
