Flowerbomb Midnight: Musky Black Currant

Flowerbomb Midnight by Viktor&Rolf
Floral
Carlos Benaim, Dominique Ropion, Domitille Michalon Bertier and Fanny Bal

Flowerbomb Midnight is a creamier rounder version of the original Flowerbomb from 2005. It has a jammy tart black currant at the top, delightful florals in the heart, night blooming jasmine and peony to be precise. I am a dedicated fun of both. Jasmine is a floral classic, peony is delicate and feminine. There is a fluffy white musk in the base together with vanilla. It is definitely not an overly sweet scent, vanilla is there, but it is bearable.

Flowerbomb Midnight smells a little bit like an older sister to Musk Therapy by Initio. If you like one, you are going to enjoy the other one too. And it is a much more affordable version of that.

I personally enjoy this flanker of Flowerbomb. If the OG is too punchy and strong, Midnight is gentler and cloudier. Being a mum, I prefer this calmer and closer to the skin flanker. It is another scent which is not super popular but if you like designer fragrances, you should really give it a chance.

Flowerbomb Ruby Orchid: Secure in Her Own Skin

Flowerbomb Ruby Orchid by Viktor&Rolf
Floral Fruity Gourmand
Domitille Michalon Bertier

Orchid flower – so typical for a Flowerbomb perfume composition. It’s no surprise we can find it in Ruby Orchid, too. Although it is a floral fruity, it has a similar dark smokiness, which the original Flowerbomb also proudly carries.

However, if you want a potent and long-lasting fragrance, go for the OG Flowerbomb because it has patchouli, which helps the scent last and project. Ruby Orchid is beautiful and mysterious but is missing the punch the OG has.

Ruby Orchid would make a great, intimate, seductive scent with all that sweetness from vanilla. It has a subtle velvet texture. It represents sensuality without going overboard. You are not going to scare the man off. Instead, he is going to be drawn to you gradually but surely.

I enjoyed most of the Flowerbombs, and Ruby Orchid is one of the best. It is sexy together with being soft at the same time. I can see myself wearing this to an intimate dinner with my husband. It would be pretty hard for a man to dislike this.

Orange Blossom & Vanilla Fragrances

Floral, Amber Floral, Amber Vanilla

If you are familiar with my blog, you know I love orange blossom and vanilla combinations in my perfumes. I know already a lot of fragrances with this note profile and I keep comparing one to another in my posts. Hence I thought it would be more practical to do a run down of orange blossom and vanilla perfumes in one video. Orange blossom and vanilla together create a lush, exotic, sweet combo that I am fascinated about. I have picked seven scents and two honorable mentions. I also give recommendations which climate and time of the day they are suitable for. Relax and enjoy the ride 🙂 xoxo

Bonbon Viktor&Rolf

I’ve put it on in the morning and smelled a sugary sweet scent. Later during the day, I suddenly felt Christmas in the office. I thought it was my colleague’s tea making that smell as he’s recently bought tea with, strangely as it sounds, Christmas flavor. Later on, when the tea was gone, my Christmas, warm and comforting scent was still there. “How is that possible”, I thought. What a great tea smell! I didn’t want to believe though that my skinflint colleague would buy such a quality alluringly fragrant tea. And I was right … It wasn’t Christmas tea by any means. That scent was Bonbon! Wow. What a nice surprise!

Bonbon is sweet, citrusy with caramel and mandarin with a great amount of longevity and sillage. I’m not a typical fan of neither vanilla nor sugar but I had noticed couple of months ago that caramelly sweet works for me. It’s somewhat lighter, doesn’t give a headache, at least not for now 🙂 So far so good.

If you like very sweet scents, caramel, mandarin and Christmas, Bonbon is the one. 70/100

Flowerbomb EDT Viktor&Rolf

A rich bunch of flowers.

Although there are fruity notes in Flowerbomb like orange and tangerine, flowers (jasmine, rose, patchouli) quickly join the rhythm and become the dominant element of this beautiful harmonious fragrance.

Flowerbomb is a lovely accessory for a special day, e.g. garden party in spring. It’ll last the entire day; it’s probably one of the most long lasting fragrances I’ve ever had. The power is incredible.

Due to its power and richness, I can hardly imagine me wearing this scent every day. It’s all about flowers and special events. Don’t look for anything oriental here, you won’t find it.

A truly floral scent that came out beautifully – rich, sharp and yummy. 70/100
