Noel au Balcon Etat Libre d’Orange

Amber
Perfumer: Antoine Maisondieu

Etat Libre d’Orange has an interesting background as a brand. The name Etat Libre d’Orange (The Orange Free State) was a sovereign republic in Africa back in 1854 – 1902. The French house represents a declaration of independence. They make perfumes free from any constraints or prejudices while using raw and high-quality ingredients. They want to be unstoppable fire. They use creativity and irony to trigger naturalistic emotions and feelings.

The name is used from the famous saying “Noel au balcon, Paques aux tisons” meaning when it’s mild at Christmas, it’s cold at Easter. Hence the scent is strong on spice yet sweetened by honey and vanilla. It is a unique consistent scent. Same on paper as on my skin. It is tenacious yet gentle. You will find apricot, cinnamon, chili pepper to name a few. It is warm and smells like Christmas without being overly sweet or sexy. What a great option for the merry times!

So this is classy Christmas. Mild spices and sweet delights make it perfect.
