La Petite Robe Noire Eau Fraiche Guerlain

Floral Green
Perfumer: Thierry Wasser

I was intrigued by La Petite Robe Noire Eau Fraiche because of the pistachio note. It is quite hard to find a good pistachio perfume these days. The best is Omnia Green Jade Bvlgari but unfortunately, discontinued!

The opening of La Petite Eau Fraiche is juicy with lemon, bergamot, mandarin orange and orange blossom. Later on, the fragrance turns floral and sweet. You will find almond blossom, cherry, rose, jasmine and again some fruity notes like raspberry, strawberry and peach. It settles sweet and green into pistachio, almond, patchouli, tonka, musk and vanilla.

It’s a strange mix but not necessarily in a bad way. I was expecting something light, airy and fresh but the reality is little bit different. In the end of the day, it is Guerlain and this house is not going to come up with something average. Their scents always have a kick, great lasting power and projection. What is more, it is a little black dress, so I should have known better and expected a more refined smell.

I see a slight similarity to Chance Eau Fraiche Chanel; however, as I said Guerlain has a twist. It is a freshie but with sweet fruits, nuts and vanilla. Fresh and sweet at the same time! Did I get my cravings for pistachio fulfilled? No, I don’t get much pistachio out of the combo but this scent is worth exploring anyway.

Fresh, green and sweet?! A peculiar combination but works perfectly fine. 70/100
